The UK is in crisis: debt is spiralling, unemployment is on the rise and the fragile coalition cabinet, led by Prime Minister Gemma Hacker, is at breaking point. But salvation may exist in the form of a complex pipeline deal with the oil-rich country of Kumranistan that would entitle the government to a multi-trillion pound loan. But when the Kumranistan Foreign Secretary makes a shocking request of Gemma’s Private Secretary Bernard Woolley, moral considerations collide with the economic future of the nation.

Click here to see our exclusive interview with Sir Humphrey Appleby

But how will Gemma and her team, Bernard, Cabinet Secretary Sir Humphrey Appleby, and Special Adviser Claire Sutton, reconcile the two? Especially with plummeting approval ratings and the BBC pounding at door demanding interviews. Political machinations, media manipulation and an appeal for divine intervention ensue. This fast-paced satirical romp is as sharp as it is hilarious and despite the passing of years, is still as relevant today as it was 25 years ago! The stage version was adapted by Antony Jay and Jonathan Lynn, the writers of the original classic TV sitcoms Yes, Minister and Yes, Prime Minister and was first seen at the Festival Theatre, Chichester in 2010. A follow up and final chapter, I’m Sorry, Prime Minister is currently on a UK tour.

Director Paul Lomax says, “I think we all like to imagine what really happens within the hallowed corridors of Westminster. There’s that inner curiosity of being a fly on the wall and seeing what the people running the country may really be getting up to – whatever their political colour. I’m sure this weekend at Chequers is one the Prime Minister would quickly like to forget! “
And now meet the rest of the cast - the skilled well oiled machine on which we all rely.....
