Fylde Coast Players are delighted to bring Britain’s favourite detective back to the Lowther Pavilion main stage with a presentation of Rachel Wagstaff’s new and exciting adaptation of an Agatha Christie classic – The Mirror Crack’d . It's all happening in St Mary Mead in 1962. The village is expanding with a new housing development (called 'The Development' by the unimaginative and unhappy locals), bringing a new population and innovations - such as a Supermarket.
If that's not enough the famous Hollywood actress Marina Gregg has purchased the nearby stately home - Gossington Hall - and is in the process of making a film! She's brought her staff with her and a lot of emotional baggage that's sure to come to the surface
In true Christie style the plot hosts and eclectic mixture of characters from the doughty and determined Jane Marple, a variety of eccentric locals, a Scotland Yard detective and finally through to the Hollywood star and associated film crew. Combined with an array of (possible) murder weapons you'll be in for a classic puzzle. Find out more about the suspects on our 'Suspect of the Week' page
It’s Christie – so not everyone is who they seem to be, and hidden identities and motives are revealed as the story unfolds in a web of lies, tragedy and danger. All the clues are presented to the audience to arrive at a shocking solution.
This new adaptation by Rachel Wagstaff (Da Vinci code, Flowers for Mrs Harris, The Girl on the Train) is dynamic and fast paced and thoroughly entertaining. Keep up with the plot and avoid the red herrings as the bodies pile up for an unforgettable evening.
